Starter question- maybe
64 corvette roadster restomod. It's got a vortec 6.0 but the starter motor seems to be like classic c2 corvette. Starter was working fine and when I was working on electrical circuits I managed to short a wire a blow a fuse (this may or may not be related). Replaced fuse. Now start makes that grinding noise and engine doesn't turn over. Ideas to what I might have done? Things to check? Thanks as always.

A weak battery or bad connection will not provide enough power to engage the bendix gear in the flywheel and cause the grinding you are describing.
Check the battery charge and clean the posts and all connections (positive and negative) on the wiring to the starter and ignition. Try again.
