Quick ECL code question (983AA paint)
Good evening!
I went with my dad, @SamEYEam this past week to check out a 1967 goodwood green vette. I was able to find the C2 trim tag ECL decoder, and saw that the 420BP meant that it had saddle vinyl and a hard top (but no power windows, no headrests, and no powerglide). I am curious what the "AA" means behind the "983" paint code? The build date was F06. The trim tag is laid out like this:

AA is not an ECL code. ECL was associated with TRIM codes.. Chevrolet could not make up its mind on Color designations on Corvette Trim Tags. AA (or A for AOS bodies) was simply letters attached to the number identifying Color, except in 65, when all colors used 900, plus a pair of letters, ie, Q-Q, or X-X, etc. In other words, AA next to your 983 color number means nothing at all.
