Help with engine number
Hi all, newbie here, looking to acquire a 1958 C1. Currently looking at a restored vehicle that looks very clean but the engine number is F 9 1 9 DB. Just wondering what this might be? Any help much appreciated.

It is likely that it's a different block than original, with correct (or incorrect) Corvette heads, intake, carbs, distributor, etc. Not many of these cars kept their original engines intact over the decades, unfortunately.

With a "DB" suffix you can be assured that that block was never, originally, in a Corvette. The good news is that the engine doesn't know that...just so long as you do and you pay accordingly.
