Depends on the rest of the car. If it has the original motor then the value is effected about as much as the paint job. If not then its a wash

Well you can paint it a different color if you like as it’s your car. That said, if you go to sell it in the future, expect a value hit in the order of what painting it back to original will cost. These day a high quality paint job starts at about 20K. In the future….who knows JMO.

What engine is in the car. A base 250 3 speed car not too many people look at the trim tag. But a high horse 327 or a 396 it matters a lot

Silver with a red interior is a beautiful combination and pretty rare. With the original 327/350 engine, that will definitely be a desirable and easy to sell car if/when you decide to sell it.

I use to despise red interiors when I was young in the 60s and 70s. Over the years my appreciation has greatly grown for them. Black, silver, even red over red - all look really sharp and pop in my opinion now.

In my opinion, (you know what that is worth) a Corvette with the original paint finish that is scratched, chipped and doggy is worth less than one with a nice shiny new finish, no matter what color! (in reason) (red is always nice)
