Default C2 Caliper Replacement

Replacing the calipers on my 65 roadster.
Which are better and last longer, O-ring or lip seal?
Only going to drive a few times per year.

I like the O-ring style calipers.

Second on the O ring calipers. Two of the lip seal calipers were leaking on my 65 when I got it. Just converted those calipers to O ring - no issues.

I replaced the lip seals with O-rings on both my 66 and 68 over ten years ago. No problems. If your calipers have previously been sleeved in stainless steel, you can save yourself some money by rebuilding the calipers yourself. Vendors like Van Steel sell kits with new pistons, O-rings, seals etc. If you trade yours in, make sure you get back Delco Moraine calipers back. Jerry

Driving only a few times a year can cause problems with the caliper piston seals.
Exercise them whenever you can even if its up and down your street.

I just completed the O-ring conversion on my 65. Had issues with pedal going soft shortly after bleeding. They had the lip seals and were showing signs of seepage. Very quick and simple upgrade.
