Default Engine Code for 57 w/4 speed manual

Can anyone give me an example or tell me the Code used for the 4 speed transmission option that came out in April for the '57 Corvettes?
Did they use the 3 Speed designation, or something else.... ?
Thanks.

i have a 1959 Chevy parts book that covers cars, trucks, and Corvette. For 57-59 it lists the engine codes for the Corvettes as either 3 speed transmission, or Powerglide. So the 3 speed code is what you'd find on a 4 speed equipped car.

Later books show MT or AT instead of listing the number of speeds.

According to my NCRS Spec Guide it's a "W" 4-speed, built at Warner Gear Division Dennis

Since you asked about the engine code, I assume you are asking about the pad suffix. The manual transmission suffixes are the same for 3 speed or 4 speed cars. They are: EF, EH, EM, EG or EL. The 4 speed option became officially available on May 1, 1957, approximately VIN number E57S103467.
