I recently purchased a 1957 corvette fuelie that needs some TLC in a few areas. One I have to tackle is the beige carpet that’s at least 20 years old. While not torn or ripped it is extremely dirty and likely has stains. Should I invest the time cleaning it?, And if so, what are some of the best products to use., Or should I replace it with new beige carpet that I can get at a reputable company? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Sounds like replace is the best option. Any leads on where I might purchase the carpet. I’m in the process of trying to learn the balance of cost versus quality products. Thanks!
EDIT: just read another post, check out Rock Auto, they sell ACC carpet at a very reasonable cost. I'm also going to order floor mats there as well as a [repop] owners manual and '60 sales brochure!
Is there value sound dead material under the carpet? Does this change the value or show value of the car relative to its originality if you have the matting underneath the carpet? Thanks!
Bad grammar on my part. Is there value in putting sound deadening material underneath the carpet, and does that at all detract from the value of the original car.
