I have a '67 with the 427/390 engine and automatic transmission. I'm seeing quite a bit of conflicting information on where the accelerator return spring attaches from the carburetor. I've seen 3 different scenarios which all claim to be "correct".
1. From the carburetor to a bracket that mounts on the intake manifold.
2. From the carburetor to a clip on the accelerator rod.
3. From the carburetor to a hole on the coil bracket.
Do you have the AIM for your '67? If so, section M35, A9 shows how the springs are attached with an automatic transmission. It, also, goes over the linkage adjustment procedure.
Just in case you don't have the AIM

I've seen this but this is what the NCRS Judging Manual says...
