Default 54 tech data
in the back of the owners manual for my 54 right below points gap info is "breaker arm tension 19-23 oz" can someone tell me what this is ?

Points arm tension in the distributor, I suspect. However, I have never heard of checking this, let alone on the stove-bolt six.

I guess you should have read the Tune Up section in the shop manual?





I've never heard of anyone checking it, either.

This is a points tension gauge. They’re used with SUN Distributor Machines.

that's the first time i've every seen that. thanks. i'm in the process of doing my first tune up on my car. next i want to check the carb adjustments. are there any good videos out there on adjusting the 3 carter YH carbs ?

I’ve never seen a new set of points not meet those specs.
As far as adjusting the carbs, check YouTube.
