Default Electrical 101 question

I removed the glove compartment and redid the front door insert and cleaned up all of the hardware. Now the light inside will not work. The multimeter shows 12v running to the base of the bulb.Have I missed a grounding point or have I damaged the switch?Any suggestions?Tried a fresh bulb.

I believe the switch gets ground from the mounting clips to the bracket & glove box frame. It's been a while since I looked at mine, but that's what comes to mind.

Search posts by 65GGvert. He answers most of the general electrical questions here and in a way that is easy to understand and that saves a lot of time. He has likely answered a question about any type of lighting or equipment failure on any C1 or C2.

there is a power wire 12V to the bulb and a ground wire to the base of the bulb there should be 2 wires to/from the glove box. since you do have power you said, then you don't have ground, or your switch does not work. the switch completes the ground circuit
