Default '63 has a miss

What spark plugs should I install in a 1963, 327/340 hp ? That will be my first attempt to get rid of the miss. The car has been sitting for several months...maybe even a year. Gas tank is spotless with fresh gas.

Check your wires at the plug first. Rodents like to eat things. Dennis

Check the easily accusable parts first. Look at the wire connections to the plugs and the dist. cap.
Open the dist. up and look at the contacts inside the cap. look for cracks in the cap . Look at the roter .
Removing the plugs , especially if it has the radio suppression hardware on it leaves you with cuts and burses .

Take it out and drive it for 10 miles or more aggressively and then see if you still have the miss. These old engines will foul the plugs if idled long or lugged around town. I use R45S in R66 as it is a bit hotter than the GM specified 44 or 43.

Very easy to load up the plugs on our relic carb fed engines. Always wise to take every car out and after full temp a good few full throttle blasts to get everything happy. I have to wake up 9 as soon as weather allows in now snow free, salt free but soaking wet New England.

Hook up a timing light and instead of timing the engine just shine the light at your face. One by one you'll see all the pulses and find anything out of order.
