Default A different C2

Could this have been the C2 instead of the one we know and love?

This is an expermental Corvair, the Monza GT. Here is an interesting quote from the Corsa web page:

According to GM design guru, Bill Mitchell, the car outperformed the fuel-injected Corvette of the day, due in part to its light weight (1500 lbs) and aerodynamics. He also is on record as saying some thought was given to the idea of the GT replacing the Corvette.

This car had the engine fliped around so it was ahead of the rear axle, a true mid-engine car. The Corvette world would have been very different if this would have happened. Wonder if the Vette would still be with us? :(
