Hi,
I'm going to look at a 67 Roadster 427/390 tomorrow and wanted to know things I can look for to verify it was an original big block car.
Any help would be appreciated.

Has the car been restored/ off the frame? If not look at the fuel line by the pump. The rear end u joints has cast caps, rear sway bar The tach is the same as the L79.
Pat - The Bigblock fuel line Keith is talking about has a 90-degree bend in it where it turns from the frame towards the fuel pump.

Good info on the fuel line. I might add, even if it shows the 90 degree bend (small blocks are a 45 degree bend), see if you can follow the fuel line back along the frame to look for splices.
I looked at a nice Mosport Green 66 BB car one time and while it had the typical 90 degree bend, I found a splice in the fuel line under the battery tray. That plus it had a small block front sway bar (smaller diameter then big blocks) and the engine stamping was questionable even to my limited experience eyes, I said thanks, but no thanks.........
I don't recall the BB sway bar diameter but a quick google search should provide that info. Easy to check on the car as well.
In order to change the complete fuel line you need to lift the body from the frame as the fuel line enters the frame at the rear kick up and is impossible to replace with the body on.
