Are you looking for a correct looking battery or just a car battery

That's not very encouraging---UGGGG ! Well , I'll try calling this BCM place tomorrow & see what they say & let you guys know. My only other answer is a Pal who has a NIB original at his house that has never been filled with acid , but I'm not a fan of the acid sloshing around inside there. Plus , I looked online , but I saw something about it becoming hard to get the acid since 2018.... I'm not 100% sure if that's the case though. I'll have to check & see what's up...

if you're not getting your car judged why not just buy a Maintenace free battery and get a battery topper. or search for the articles on how to cut open your old battery and put in a smaller battery inside the case

I AM getting it judged though------I did think about potentially cutting the bottom out of my pals battery & putting a smaller 750 AMP inside of it, but like you said , I'd need to find one of those articles & I still have a fair amount of other work to do before this meet. I'd rather not add to the list if you know what I mean.....

put in a current day ACDelco 24 Series and take a modest deduction for Originality in judging..

Interesting....that battery looks just like the cheap battery I just got at walmart for an OT car. I think it was $70 for mine. Made in South Korea. Same handle....

Thats who I use.

I needed one for my 66 prior to Hershey this past fall. Talked to Jim, told him my predicament and he worked with me to get me the battery in time. Can't say this happens with them all the time, but I got lucky.

If that doesn't work out, as was mentioned, put a delco battery in it and take the modest point deduction.

If buying a battery online, I can imagine how much the shipping costs would be. Seems it would be cheaper just to get one locally as pointed out above. Mabey I'm missing something here. Just saying.

Unless you are chasing NCRS points for a top flight award , buy a battery local and install it yourself.
Most new batteries come with a 3 year warranty now .

I spoke to a nice gentleman at the battery mall this AM.... He said that they're getting in Batteries in June, from Mexico---------What a damn shame.

The points deducted for a modern Delco are minimal. Make it up somewhere else.

If you’re insistent, and think you can still get the non-tar-top version, PM me and I’ll send you a spray can of black wax that makes it look (and feel) like real tar (the supplier mistakenly sent me dozen cans, and I only used one). The rest are of no use to me.

Mike how well does it hold up? Does it pick up dirt easy? That would make my fake battery topper look more real.

I ordered a battery for my car from BCM in March of 2023 - and I still don’t have it. Despite assurances that it will eventually show up I’m about ready to give up. As others have said BCM gets them from Jim’s and supposedly that is where the problem is.
