I'm restoring a spare tire tub and lid and while looking for a better support I came across this anomaly. The one on the right is from my car and the left one is from a stack of spares I have in my collection. You'll notice there are no holes in the left one to attach it to the lid and the square jack handle tube is enough smaller it will not accept the handle. Another difference is the latching hook is more square than the "original". It's obviously not home made. I wonder what the story is on this. I have no idea where it came from.
