I have power brakes but am going to have a problem with the ZZ-502 style tall valve covers hitting the booster.
The HydraBoost solution would provide plenty of room.
I have the parts to install power steering on my car but with P265-50x15 tires on the front I'm reluctant to - I figure on some skittishness on the freeways?!?!
Skittishness on the freeway? Don't worry about it - so long as you get the alignment right on the money, you'll be fine. Super wide tires will have the tendency to "Tram" on uneven pavement at lower speeds, especially rutted asphalt. The addition of ps will actually help this condition! :auto:
Re: HYDRATECH GROUP PURCHASE ! (Hydratech Braking)
Super wide tires will have the tendency to "Tram" on uneven pavement at lower speeds, especially rutted asphalt.
By Tram, do you mean bump steer- where cracks or irregularities cause the car change direction suddenly and/or unpredictably? I was not aware power steering improved this condition!
Wide tires respond to different road surfaces and irregularities much more than regular widths do. At times the driver must countersteer a harsh pull caused by a rut in the road, and may find that a quick countersteer again in the other direction may be necessary - this is where power steering is superior in its ability to help the driver perform better. Faster steering ratios and powerful assist also really help if the car "gets away from you" and requires a quick, powerful maneuver to "catch it". :auto:
A front tire blow out in any car is an unpleasant experience, a car equipped with manual steering can kick back so hard through the steering wheel that a driver can actually be injured! Power steering has become a standard "safety feature" on almost all new cars as a result.
Same essentially applies to power assisted brakes
