Corvette nation, I was able to pick up a 62 and I’m trying to find more about my new toy. Is there any chance to contact GM or corvette registry. I’m trying to find out if it was a fuel injection car or carbureted. Did all 62s have the brackets and holes drilled for the filter for fuel injection? It has a 6500 red line tach, it does have posi but don’t know what ratio yet. All help would be appreciated. New to the C1 community and trying to find out as much as possible.
Welcome to the Corvette Forum. Your questions have been raised before and it takes a bit of detective work. There is a voluntary registry for solid axle Corvettes but since it is voluntary, you'll notice it only
has a little over 6% of the 1962 Corvettes listed. The Corvette C1 Registry
Good luck in your search and do post up pics of your 62 Corvette.

Welcome to the forum. Where is the wsw tank and its vacuum tank located? Passenger side = FI car, driver side = carbureted. If its missing look for evidence of the mounting bracket. There are other tell tales. If you don’t already have one get a assembly manual for your car. It’s invaluable.

Rocklin? You should come up to Chico when we have our car show. Also, I think Lincoln show is this weekend.

Mike,
I tried to trace my 62 through that site and the Vin is not there---I then tried to add my vin and it wont let me--it says that it is not a valid Vin--because as we know, those old vins are of a different format. So, the question is How did the already listed Vins get into that data base and second, how can I add mine to it.
maybe you don't have the correct VIN? post it here, so we can see why it might be invalid? or compare it to actual VINs and see if there's some difference? The first part should be the same as all the other 62s, the last 5 digits will be different.
Hey Eddie - All those VIN entries were added by the owners, in most cases. That's why you'll see a percentage number at the top, usually a low percentage like 5 or 6%, indicating that only 5 or 6% of that year Corvette are on the list.
On the left side of the home page you'll see New Account. Click on that and you should be able to add your VIN along with description and pics.

Thank you for all the input. Leo WSW vacuum canister is tucked up high on passenger side front fender. The mount for the bottle and motor are mounted by the battery box.
