My differential has a lot for wear in it so I'm looking for a replacement. Question is are all the 3rd members interchangeable up to 1962? Mine is not a posi. Thanks

ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL 56-62 Corvette and ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL 55-64 pass car rearend center sections are a 100%, total bolt-in swap.
BUUUUUUUUUUUUT, avoid the 55-56 rears because they are thinner, weaker than the 57-64 center sections.
It does NOT matter if it is a posi or a non-posi, they still interchange.
Here is an example of a side-by-side comparison of a posi and non-posi center section.
By the way, if the ring and pinion gears in your existing rear are OK and usable, your rear can be rebuilt.
If it is a posi, then after the rear center section is installed in the axle housing, add one bottle of positraction additive, then fill it up with 80-90 gear oil. Other than that, nothing special.
