My dailly driver is in the shop. The serpentine belt, which was replaced two years ago but got soaked in power steering fluid a while back, threw and cut the wiring harness on the way out. It messed up the computer, and I can't fix it. Dropping a motor recently in the '63 Vette was no problem, but I can't handle a thrown belt in the new one. I can't complain though. The "new" car has 145,000 miles and has never left me stranded until now. I'll take that any day. Because of the broken down driver, I had to drive the '63 to a job interview sixty miles away wearing a suit. On the way up, I did about 60 mph and was pretty comfortable. On the way back, I did about 80 mph. Between the roar of the wind, the booming exhaust, the vibration, and sweatty vinyl, I was a tired puppy when I got home. I made that trip every weekend in college smiling ear to ear at 4,000 rpm with a 4.11 rear. Today I had a 3.08 gear. I've gone from a 4.11 to a 3.70 to a 3.08 in my life. Now, a 2.73 gear with quiet mufflers is on my mind. Before you think that I'm turning into an old sissy, I have to say that the daily driver has gotten about 7,000 miles this year; the '63 Vette has gotten 8,000 miles. I love to drive that car. Are coupes any quieter?
I drive mine 25mi each way to work about one a week, and I’m raring to go at each end.
The only vert I’ve been in lately is milehigh66’s BB side pipe car. Keeping that monster on the road is work, so much work that the booming side pipes are hardly noticed.
My coupe is fairly quiet for a 40 yr old car, it’s fairly tight. The slight vibration at 80 is not something I like to deal with for very long though.

Re: Daily driver???? (stngry63)
I know where you're coming from with the 4:11. I ordered a new 65 L-76 with a 4:11 and it was fun at first, a real advantage when the lights turned green, etc.
But my job required lots of long distance Interstate travel so before the first year was out I'd changed to the 3:36 rear. Made a dramatic difference in the drivability of the car, I liked it much better.
And IMO Coupes are more civililized, not as much wind noise and the enclosed cabin just has a certain feel about it that I like.
