These bodies are manufactured and assembled in the same vein as they were in the 60’s. The exception being that we use superior tooling resins. These are assembled around a metal and carbon fiber “birdcage.”

I'm not to sure why their website is still up, but Stinger closed a little over a year ago. Below is their home page with the closing announcement.

https://stingerfiberglass.com/

To be honest, from my experiences with them I wouldn't recommend them anyway.

I had gotten a few front spoilers from them for the vintage racer I crew for. They were okay, not great, but they were going to have a hard life anyway being on a race car so fit and finish wasn't a major concern. They weren't very strong either, as we had one break up and fall off a car while on track, without ever hitting anything with it.

Their customer service skills and business policies were pretty bad too. About three years ago I ordered a 77 Firebird rear bumper cover from them for a customer, but they sent him a 79-81 rear bumper instead. They initially claimed I'd ordered the wrong bumper, but their invoice showed 1977. Then because my customer had had the bumper 10 or 12 days before he realized it was the wrong year, they said it was unreturnable because their policy was all orders had to be inspected upon receipt and problems reported immediately. Anything not inspected before the shipper leaves was not returnable. They refused to do anything to correct the problem, even though it was obvious they'd sent the wrong part. After going round and round with them for a couple weeks I finally ordered a 77 bumper from someone else, paid to have my customer return the other bumper to me and I never dealt with Stinger again.

Anyone out there need a brand new, never used 79-81 Firebird fiberglass rear bumper cover?

sounds strong, just what you might need for a modern engine, trans, and suspension

OP, this is interesting to me. Looks like a coupe body is about $61k. That ain't cheap. I would love to see their build process and the "bird cage". Being licensed by GM makes me curious...

Well I actually watched their video on the C2 replacement body...shows the birdcage and the construction in a computer graphic. Pretty impressive...

I bought a Vega hood from Stinger and after 30 years of body work for a living and dealing with a good it of aftermarket fiberglass including some lightweight racecar parts, that hood was some of the worst glass I ever had the misfortune of dealing with. And the customer service, if you could call it that, was even worse. If they are out of business, it is a blessing to the car hobby in general
