If you're pulling a trailer up hill you might need to worry about valve seats. I have ran ethanol for 13 years with zero problems with nothing but gas in the gas tank
Thank you
Runs good
Just hear all this stuff about valve seats
And ethanol is another question I had
I do use Sta-Bil
John
You don’t need the Sta-bil at all, even for winter storage…won’t hurt but you really don’t need it.
I run my L78 (around 10.5 to 1 compression) with no problems on 93 or 94 pump gas in the summer. I do use a lead additive for octane boost in the late fall though. I’m on the prairies and the stations start getting the winter blend fuels around Labour Day. My car does not agree with it! Not sure if or when they change the fuel blend on the coast.
The additive I use isn’t because of its lead content, it just does actually boost octane. http://www.wildbillscorvette.com/OctaneSupreme01.htm
Ethanol in gasoline pulls online water, call it
moisture in the air
its no good 90 days later
I did fuel testing for oem, had all the test data
when it started it was taking the coating off the fuel tanks clogging up the pumps carbs and I’d see all this in warranty returns
new car fuel systems changed to accommodate
but still the fuel degrades
lot rot in new cars
hard starting lawnmowers and snowblowers 4cycle
are real world examples
Add the stabilizer at minimum and or lose the ethanol BEST
You can get 90 rec fuel
or 110 racing gas
after losing a precious survivor fuel sender due to alcohol corrosion then the super rare bb Holley ethanol eating the metering block, and ethanol eating a non rebuild able 427 fuel pump…I only run 110
