Need some wisdom,I have a 62 fuelie, am reviewing some wiring from hell. There is a solenoid under the FI unit, book calls it “cranking signal valve, or enrichment solenoid. No wiring diagram that I can find referes to it. The wire supplying power to it was on the full12v side of the resistor, is this correct? If it was a “cranking signal valve” should it be on the green wire side that gets its power from the resister bypass?

Welcome. The CSV is vacuum and does not have any wires going to it from the factory. More than likely some smart person installed a fuel shut off solenoid that needs 12v when the engine is cranking or running.
Post pictures of your unit and you will get more assistance. Jim should chime in also to help.

I agree with Joe. What you've described is consistent with a fuel shut off valve which has been (wisely) retrofitted to your FI unit to prevent it from siphoning fuel into the engine.

Ah so, then it is wired to the 12volt side of the ignition resistor. Thanks for your quick help on this.

Yes and your pictures confirm it's an anti-siphon valve, a Real Good Thing.

YES, AGREED.
Most likely, someone in the past has done a modification with the solenoid under the plenum (I have done many).
It is difficult to understand, diagnose, or provide assistance about your unit-------------WITHOUT PICTURES.

As already mentioned, the original (factory installed) cranking signal valve was a vacuum function device.
