My promotional period expired, and I’m wishing to poll the group as to the best subscription rate you guys are seeing.

In advance, thanks much!

I really don't like dealing with these guys, but have XM in two of my daily drivers. Each year, the renewal process is frustrating to say the least. If you can understand the foreign sales people, I always say " $100 per car, per year, or just turn them off". After much 'promotional sale' gimmicks, 'need to speak to my manager' gimmicks, and my demand that the credit card MAY NOT be auto billed for the next cycle in one year, these a$$es always accept my offer. Terrible business model and terrible and deceptive service. Truly the worst I have had to deal with.
No I don't use I-pods and the like. I enjoy several stations on XM but loathe having to listen to their BS each year.

Unless Howard Stern is your thing, Spotify is a much better deal and you can custom build your play lists or select one of their radio stations. Even Amazon Music is better in my opinion.

I still love my iPods. They weaned me away from Sirius/XM long ago. My entire, very large music library can ride in my shirt pocket. I guess maybe I'll make the transition into the 2020s by around the mid-2040s, if I'm still drawing breath when that time arrives.

Live well,

SJW

After my original subscription to SiriusXM radio expired I waited them out for about a year or so as they repeatedly bombarded me with new subscription offers and slightly different prices. They lowered the monthly subscription price a little bit each time they came after me.

Finally when the cost got down to $5.00 a month, I pulled the trigger (again) and so that is what I pay every month. I like it a lot and am very happy with it. Worth the $5 a month in my opinion. I don't listen to anything but music on SiriusXM.

Ironically I don't (can't) listen to it (or any music for that matter) in my C2 while I am driving because of the sound of the side exhaust. C.J.

I normally pay around $100 a year per car. My daughter’s car subscription ended and she said she didn’t want to renew. About 2 months after it expired xm offered her $3.00 per month and it’s for 3 years guaranteed. And no automatic renewal. She took it. So you might want to let it expire and wait for that deal to come in. Only issue is they won’t let you pay it all at one time. They charge my visa $3.00 per month!

That seems to be the best approach - my problem is I can't go a year without decent music. I may have to learn how to use a Bluetooth and do as SJW does carrying an entire music library in a pocket. Yes, I AM a tech dinosaur.

Long time Sirius subscriber, my account is tagged as a charter account. Early on they offered a lifetime membership for $400. I'm done forever. My wife pays for XM in her GMC, LOL.

I stream it from my phone bluetooth to the PMX-2 in my C2

With Bluetooth I probably haven't listened to a radio in 15+ years, I have Pandora which is free, and it's as easy as typing in my favorite artists & bands & thats what it plays. I get a new company car every year and it's always got XM but I can't tell the last time I turned on XM, I just never use it, or set any radio stations. I just click the Pandora, and my music starts playing, just my artists, all my favorite's from my youth, which was the 90's, but I have all sorts of 60's, 70's, and 80's stuff in there too, so a great variety.

Its just like TV to me, I have no cable, just internet connected to the tv so the wife can have her Hulu and Netflix, and all the other streaming things she likes, but the only thing I ever watch is youtube videos, usually educational, engineering/technical, or car build content. No news, no sports, just things I enjoy.

I prefer to go thru life dumb and happy, not concerned about all the b.s. everyone seems to constantly be so worried about. I control my inputs, no "programming" for me. It seems a much happier way to go thru life.

The radio broadcasters in this area have ceased to believe there are people still alive from the 60s and 70s. Their oldies are now 80s and 90s stuff, not my style. I still have years of vinyl records, tapes, and CDs which I put some on an old computer and then to thumb drives also. Now that some of my radios have bluetooth, I am going to put my music on an old phone to carry with me as then I can pick from a menu on what to play. My new hearing aids are also bluetooth which resolves the issue with wind noise. Some new technology is great if you can make it work with old technology.

Can you just play the tunes through the hearing aids?

I just went through this with my new 2024 truck. It is $100/year +/- a few dollars with how much I drive it's worth it.

Just got the aides yesterday, so haven't tried them yet. I don't believe they will allow the bluetooth music along with normal operation hearing noise from the passenger's seat , but it could be a bad thing while driving.
I have some open ear buds that I want to try, but haven't gotten around to it yet. Too much going on to play with things.

I have it in three cars and I really like the variety of channels. The company is sleazy to deal with and every time I call them I have the urge to take a shower when I am done. They are the masters of deception and hidden fees. To me, it is like dealing with the DMV or the property tax folks. I just hold my nose and send them money.

This has been a helpful thread, I can see I have been paying well above what they are willing to do. I have a free trial ending in a little while, time to beat them down.

Ask for "Music Only" its much less than the entire package.

I can and often do but that supersedes other inputs to the hearing aids. I've not found any way to prioritize one input over any other on hearing aids.

If you live in the NYC, upper Jersey, lower CT area, tune in WFDU 89.1 fm. It plays a wide range of oldies all the time with no commercials. It's part of F. D University and gets its money from listeners. Way better music than Sirius
