I am still running the original harness in my 63 and I am done chasing the gremlins and the fear of the car melting. What do you guys recommend? American Autowire does not look to fit into the factory holes in the firewall. What is the best option out there.
Not an original car, just a driver. Need a project for the winter
I used Lectric Limited to replace the 3 front harnesses on my '72 and couldn't be happier with their fit. Everything was where it should be and connected up with no fuss.

is their kit the stock firewall connection? with the two (2) bulk heads in the engine bay?
Yes. Both vendor kits are complete. I have used both and was and am satisfied. Consider getting a wiring diagram from Dr. Rebuild. It's the best. Jerry

chrismoore701, the LL harnesses come with diagrams that show what connector goes to what and is good, but Doc Rebuild's wiring/connector diagrams are great. He calls them something like Oosooez. They're heavy laminated color diagrams (both my '67 & '72 diagrams are two separate large sheets) that show the connectors for all of the wiring in the car and are invaluable when diagnosing what you're looking at in a tangle of wires.
Did you open the link in post #2?? It has very nice photos of their harness.
I did and lectric limited does not have pics of the harness, just 10% off banners, I called them yesterday and not answer
M&H does not show a complete harness, just takes you to Summit and looks like you have to build your own
Lectric limited was at Carisle maybe they are slow to respond. At one time Corvette Central/Pargon sold LL harness cheaper then what you could get them direct.
I used lectric limited for all my wiring harness. Was pretty much plug and go. Only thing I will add is save your plastic connectors off your old harness in case some of the new connectors aren't quite right. Also, I will second the doc rebuilds laminated wiring harness diagrams. They were a huge help. Good luck.
I used LL in both my 70 roadster (complete) and I'm currently doing my 63 have all but the dash harness installed and so far, a perfect fit. The only difference I discerned from my Reseach at the time before buying I spoke to both companies and LL told me they built a test jig for all harnesses to ensure every connection worked as it should. Hope this helps good luck with your project.
