The adventure continues! I am replacing my door panels in the 64 with some leather Al Knoch door cards, and at the same time I was going to change out the door locks because the key only works the ignition. After reading through threads, just getting a key cut for the original lock now seems like a better idea.
My problem is finding someone who can actually cut these keys. I have ordered 3 blanks from ZIP that will be here early next week. I called the local ACE, and they can only copy old keys, not create one from a code. I have looked online, but I am not finding anyone who will cut these old keys from just the key code. There is a local mobile locksmith who may do it, but there is a $60 Service call fee just to show up. My question is, is there an online place to order keys with just the key codes? If not, where have you found luck getting a key cut from just the key codes?
Thank you in advance! I was so excited when I found this number, I prefer leaving things that are not broken in place where I can. I do have new locks but that also risks scratching the paint getting the old ones in and out.

You don't have any "brick and mortar" locksmiths near near? GM dealers use to be able to do it, but I think their system only goes back 10 years now. Try Jesser's Classic Keys in Ohio, he can do it but I've found he's not always the most pleasant person to deal with.

Thanks, will check them out and appreciate the heads up! The only local one I am finding is mobile, I am trying to not have to go into Tulsa but if I have to I will.

The local Corviar junk yard to me that restores Corviars has the old key cutting machine for the local Chevy dealer in town. And they will cut the keys at a very reasonable fee.
I had lost my keys & got the code off the door locks & just ordered one online. I then bought more blanks from Zip & had extras made. I do not recall the site, but it is an easy google search to find one.

Steve Walker in New Mexico cuts keys from code. He took over from Pete Lindahl after his passing. Sorry I dont have his contact. Contact the f New Mexico NCRS chapter for his contact.
Believe it or not I had keys cut AND blanks supplied by my Chevy dealer in Allentown Pa. These we for a 69 Camaro but maybe your local dealer can still do it also. This was just in 2021.

Thanks everyone. I emailed Jesser's, it looks like they offer an NCRS quality service specifically aimed at our cars. I also found a seller on eBay under a listing "1953-1985 Chevrolet Corvette 2 Keys Cut By Code" for about 25 bucks shipped, we will see if that works out. I will go down the list if neither of these do work out, great info here! It is possible the local dealership that has been here forever could be able to do it, but they are kind of a PIA dealing with.
Jeff Salz is very good for key work and very fair pricing , i was next to him at carlisle he did a bunch of key work
pm me if you would like his contact info
