Default WCFB Problems

My 1960 Corvette has a newly rebuilt 327 engine that runs fine. However, the 2x4 set up is causing me difficulties. The carbs were rebuilt about 2 years ago (8-10,000 miles ago). The car starts fine with just a tap to set the choke, but after being run and warm it is hard to start. It acts like it is flooded and sputters. Once the engine is reved up and cleared it runs fine again. It does run better with the air filter removed, but it still does not operate 100%. Any suggestions?

Heat soak of the carb/gas, boiling the gas. It's very common and can be reduced by placing the appropriate insulators between the manifold and carbs. Also, if you can, wrap your gas line with foil, it may help also. Dennis

Verify that the choke is going fully off after a short warm-up. It may be as simple as to adjusting the choke slightly more toward the lean side.

IF available non ethanol fuel helps to reduce percolation.

Thanks for the idea. My line is already insulated, but there are no insulators installed. Where do I get insulators - the parts sources I use do not have them in their catalogs.

I have a single WCFB on my LT-1 350.
A few thoughts for you:

- Do you have the exhaust blocked from entering the manifold with a block-off plate in the gasket?
- Don't pump the pedal at all before a hot start
