I am looking at a 67 Corvette for possible purchase. The engine stamp includes the number "2" digit twice. The profile of one digit is slightly different than the other. Is this something to be concerned about regarding the number matching aspect or am I being too critical?
No. They are held in a gang holder and can be crooked or in this case a different die. The VIN derivative is really the one you want to be consistent with other stamps made around the production sequence of the car. If you have the VIN stamp, we can compare.
