The paint on my 65 is pretty good except for the hood. It’s a stinger hood silver and black with the black pin stripe. I got a paint quote of $1750 but I’m wondering if a wrap job might be just as good and cheaper. What’s chances of the color matching? Any opinions?
From what I understand, a wrap is ONLY as good as the paint and bodywork underneath it. It will magnify every imperfection or wave in the body. They can look fantastic or not so good. There is a place two doors down from my shop in the same building here that does them, but almost always on brand new cars. Porsches, Lambos, Ferraris, Corvettes, even a Tesla abomination of a "Truck." They always look great, except for the Tesla, but they are perfect paint, new cars.
1750 for a new paint job is a great deal.
