I need a ballpark figure on a 1966 IP code, L72 engine. It has 1970 3964291 HP heads.
Block casting is 3869942 built March 11. It still has the vin stamped on the pad and hasn't been decked. It was used in an oval track car years ago.
I looked in the cylinders and there is no rust and the engine turns.
Thanks
Six years ago I paid 3k for a 4-bolt 942 block that needed the bores redone. A current thread says often that price for a block has now doubled. If it's a real 4-bolt 942... to someone who needs that date, it's valuable. Larry
I do not know if they actually sold but I have seen 427 blocks 66-67 listed for as much as $10,000. Again, no idea if anyone paid that much but someone was asking for it.

Does it come with a no cracks guarantee or is it as-is? To me that makes a big difference in its value. If it's a crack-free block, I'm guessing $4-5K. Otherwise $1-1.5K.
