58 hood problem

Default 58 hood problem
Need info on if this 58 hood is a R or L ? The flat section on R has a reason? Hood prop is correct but does not line up with present nuts in hood. Something is incorrect. Guidance needed

Well for one thing it's a reproduction hood wich is very obvious, but the hood latch area looks o-k. Don't understand why the bolts don't line up. It's supposed to be on the left.

One thing I see is that your lower hood support bracket is upside down. Compare:



I don't know what's going at the hood, though.

Jim is correct, bottom bracket is upside down.

I have over 1000 pics of my 58 from when I restored it but none that are hood support specific. These two may help though

Well now that I feel not so smart. The bracket mounted wrong was the issue. Thank you for the input.
