67 upper surround replacement

67 upper surround replacement
I am looking at a 67 for a friend. It has had a front end accident at some point according to current owner. The owner does not know the specific accident history as he bought it as is. I have looked the car over and do not see any obvious evidence of front end replacement but I am not an expert by any means. Can someone please list the things to look for for a front clip or upper surround replacement. I am going to look at the car again in a couple of days.

I looked at the rain gutter at the inner fender and there is no evidence of a splice. The mold pop is also present. I do not have any pictures to post. When I go back I will get some pictures if I am still unsure at that point.

Repro top surrounds are much thicker then originals
are the "J" clips for the wiring on the gutter
