Hi I just wanted to ask does anyone have a Daytona blue car?I am having my car painted and it is red now but originally a Daytona blue car I love red but I can’t make up my mind to go back blue.
Do you want to blend in or standout. Think about how many red corvettes you see and then how many you see in Daytona Blue. Please don't flame me, red is a great color on the car, its just that so many are that color.
I'm not really a C2 guy, for me it's the C3 that rings my bell, but, as I am currently scoping out the market for C3's I'll throw my two cents out there.
I could care less about engine/transmission numbers, date codes, etc, etc, as they are not worth paying for, except for one related thing.......I refuse to buy a repainted example in the wrong color or with the wrong interior. Those cars don't even get looked at by me, and I think many buyers are the same. Eventually it will get resold again. FWIW......

Hi I appreciate everyone’s reply I have owned this car for 25 years and am now getting to fix the car it has a 383 450 hp engine and I am having it painted my body shop guy says paint it blue and am leaning that way but haven’t seen one.I’m very busy trying to get my girls thru school and working a lot to keep the lights on haha thanks guys for the support
My first C2 was a 64 Daytona Blue with white interior, my wife says it was the best looking of my Corvettes, and I agree. If it had not been totaled in 1968, I would probably still own it.
My 64 was Daytona Blue originally and when I had it repainted. In dark light you would swear it was black but in the sunlight it was a beautiful dark blue with metal flake in it. It always got compliments on the color and paint.
My car was originally red & it was repainted a very nice "true" Candy apple Red by a previous owner, which is stunning looking, but impossible to fix any rock chips or scratches on a true candy paint job, and it has a few.... I would have it repainted, but I just yawn at the thought of having just another red Corvette, so I don't paint it.
If it were originally Daytona Blue, I would be estatic and I would have painted it years ago. One of my favorite C2 colors.
