Default Engine ID please

Seller claims original 63 fuelie ? Black book has it as 340HP but car has a FI unit installed ?
So can I assume a 340 with a FI unit from another car ?

Lots of incorrect stuff and bits missing under the hood, but it runs and drives, so I'm told.
I also read somewhere FE could also be a fuelie, is there any truth to that ?

"FE" as the engine assembly code? No. "RF" only.

off topic
Is the engine compartment surround correct - shouldn't it have a drop-down like the two picks I posted

No it doesn’t, is it supposed to ?
I also found this

“Per Noland Adams database published in his "Complete Corvette Restoration and Technical Guide Vol. 2", FI cars produced just prior in this timeframe include :
#17304 with a stamp F0605RE / casting date E 27 3
#17511 with a stamp F0422RF / casting date D 15 3
#17652 with a stamp F0610RE / casting date E 23 3
#17691 with a stamp F0606RF / casting date E 17 3”

Im waiting on VIN and trim tag photos, but is the above correct for early 63 ?
I think the VIN falls outside these dates if I’m reading it right ?

Noland’s book was published many years after these cars were built. Many cars had been altered by then. I would depend on trends in his data, not data points.

ok thanks
VIN is 30837S118223 so matching numbers engine to car, but still need confirmation that RE suffix is definitely not or possible for FI in that time frame.
car’s birthday is June 26th 1963

RE code indicates a solid lifter, carbureted, 340 HP engine ONLY. It NEVER indicated a fuel injected engine. Only RF indicates FI.
