Transmission install.
Today was the day to put the Muncie back into my 63. I waited on the speedo driven gear to arrive before installing the tail housing, kinda gun shy. Sent the case to Riverside to sleeve the counter shaft. Found A cast iorn front retainer that I had to drill the bolt holes to 3/8, I have the small bearing retainer. Didn't need any gears or synchronizers just the front bearing. Installation was kinda ruff with the jack I had and the need to kock the bell housing and lift the trans at the same time but I got it. Spent more time fiddling with the shifter untill I figured out I was using the wrong mounting holes. While I had the shifter out I saw the chrome shield thing that the reverse cabke and spring mechanism had comenout of its lower brass rivet. I used some stiff wire to secure it back tight. Put oil in and started her up. Such A nice feeling, no leaks, no bad noise and it shifts nice. Good day..0
