I am looking to replace the black carpet in my 1964 C2 convertible. A few questions:
1) Who makes a quality replacement product and what is their website? I see pricing all over the place. I don't mind paying more for quality, but I don't want to overpay for the same product.
2) What is the difference between FOAM back and POLY back?
3) Do you suggest putting down insulation under the new carpet?
I will address your question 2, and let others address 1 and 3..
Foam back has a thin layer of grey foam rubber bonded to the underside of the carpet.. This carpet was used in 64 Convertibles..
Poly back has opaque plastic film bonded or sewn to the underside of the carpet.. This carpet was used in 64 Coupes.
I suggest you choose the foam backed carpet for your Convertible.
