Be careful to not get it on the porcelain, only the threads. It will conduct electricity and you could see fireworks if it is in the boot or on the plug. You probably already know this, but thought I would check.

Anti seize is great for plugs that go into aluminum heads, but not necessary for spark plugs going into cast iron heads....remember iron heads?

Correct, especially if you use plugs with the copper gasket.

Older cars with gasketed plugs (not the type with tapered seats that don’t have gaskets) require 15 to 20 lb ft AFTER they have been tightened through gasket compression. The metal gasket is designed to compress on first use and you will observe one turn or so where the torque is constant as the gasket compresses, then torque increases as you continue to turn the wrench, allowing torque to increase to the proper level.
Lots of people used to stop turning as the plug got into the compression range but would stop before it was fully compressed, causing problems later when the plug would eventually back out.

Sorry. Rechecked my ‘61 service manual and the spec is 25lb Ft, not 15-20.

I should have been more specific, sorry.
I have Edelbrock E street Aluminum heads installed on my 327.
Edelbrock info states that they require an "extended tip GASKET plug" and the torque set at 10 lb/ft"
This I have done along with a dab of anti sieze and I have never had a leak and further when I remove the plugs they are quite tight at the 10 lb setting.
Cast iron heads will certainly vary.
Sorry for the incomplete.
Best
Eddie

A little dialectic grease in the boot can be helpful on future removal and waterproofing. I use in on practically all electrical connections.
