In 1961 did they use shiny or cloth harness tape?

Long before '61, harnesses were wrapped with a plastic tape which looks like electrical tape but without the adhesive.

and it's a bit wider than normal 3/4" electrical tape...

I just put some on an off topic car today. Bought a big roll a long time ago, it comes in handy!

The restoration parts places sell normal size rolls pretty reasonable, about $15-20
