Muncie shifter aiignment
I just finished installing my motor and trans in my 67 small block. I have shifter alignment issues. My original style Muncie lever is crossmember mounted. What is the best access to the alignment slot, under the car or from inside, and if so inside remove console, boot and retainer. Also any jack stand position recommendations if it's an under car fix.

Best to do the adjustment from under the car with the drivers side exhaust removed. The stock shifter requires a special adjustment tool. Check your manual for the dimensions for the tool. I made mine from a piece of aluminum stock. Also check your manual for the jacking and jack stand points. I use the side frame rails for jack positioning.
