A great forth of July for the wife. Just picked up our finished 66 coupe from a great shop up here in Libertyville Illinois. known as Tri Power Automotive I can't throw enough accolades at owners Jon & Mike Markese for the .work on the wife's car which was flawless to the very end She was in tears when she saw the finished product .
" back story " About a year ago i bought the car for my wife of 60 years mostly for having to put up with me for that long . Minor reward but she likes it . After pulling the engine and trans and a rebuild like all projects an having a bunch of empty spare checks i went crazy and took it over to a local Vette guy ( Tri Power ) and said finish it , he went thru the entire car . added the big block hood , did the wire harness's a bunch of paint work .interior work .having retired after 50 yrs in the auto repair business it felt good to watch someone else do the work for a change .It was a loaded coup ps / pb / power windows / tele wheel / powerglide / factory ac / the hardest part was matching the paint after all these years , it took 14 tries to come up with a match to the existing paint which was a old / old repaint from who knows when . I now get to drive the other car for a change our other 66 442 .
I love the hood. The car looks amazing. I have a Marlboro Maroon 67 small block that needs paint help . I have always really wanted a BB hood. Libertyville isn't very far from Shitcago. Maybe .........
