Default AC Condenser Question

The car is a 67 factory air coupe, everything firewall back is stock. A couple of years ago I converted to an LS and use a Sanden compressor and a Vintage Air condenser. Recently the condenser was damaged and has to be replaced. I still have my original condenser. The two units are about the same size, but the flow pattern is different. The original condenser pushes the refrigerant though all the tubes whereas the Vintage Air----- actually I don't understand the VA flow. Does anyone know of an advantage of one over the other?

I believe the VA condenser is a "crossflow" design. This is typically more efficient than the OEM serpentine design. If it worked fine before, I would replace it in kind.
