Smeding Performance crate engines
Wondering if anyone on here has purchased a Smeding Crate engine.......
There website and videos make the place sound great, but I am well aware of WHO pays for those.... Looking for any actual users of there engines or been around someone who has...

I knew Ben when he opened his first shop near Sacramento. At that time he was still learning and making some mistakes but he is smart and works hard so I think he most likely builds good engines now. I have watched some of his videos he has come a long way since leaving Sacramento.
I can't comment on any engine built by him in the past 20 years since he moved. I would verify what brand of parts are being used for each component. That will tell you a lot about the quality of the build. Customer feedback word of mouth is always best to know.
If I had to choose between Smedding or Blueprint I would give the nod to blueprint due to the amount of feedback available including how they stand behind the product should there be an issue.
