Default '66 Hazard Light

I'm installing a V74 Hazard Warning Switch in my '65 vert. I want to confirm where the proper place is to drill the hole for the switch shaft.
I searched the CF archives and found out there is a good reference in Nolan Adams Guide book.
The illustration shows that there is a 5\8 inch hole that is drilled 2 inches above the brake shaft.
However, 2 inches isn't very far and I wonder if that is a typo. The accompanying picture "looks" like it's more than 2 inches. Also, 2 inches is very close to interfering with the welded bracket in back of the holder.
If anyone has a '66 with N74, could you please measure the distance between the center of the two hole?
(Sorry for the crude edits on the two pictures).
Thanks!
John

JSW --
Here's a photo of RPO V74 on my Jul '66 St Louis build convertible. Can't say if this is factory or dealer install, as that option could be presented either way. I suspect factory, as the 2" o.c. is accurate. There's very little room top-side for the pull ****, particularly vicinity the turn signal capacitor mounted directly above. Hope this helps; wouldn't hurt to cheat a little down on the 2" dim.

Thank you for the photo and the measurement. I'm glad you were able to confirm it. I'll drill the hole as spec'd and your picture. Thanks!

Keith: Very good point about the AIM, but my car is a '65. I didn't think it would be in the '65 AIM because N74 wasn't an option in '65.

Adding the switch is probably the easiest safety mod I've made.

Would have been a dealer add on in 65. Might be in the service manual. But the dealer add on would have came with instructions. But the AIM picture posted above is all you need.

John - I agree, a very simple modification to make in the interest of safety. I've got 2 65's and 2 66's and have added that V74 Option to all of them.
For measurements, I made the center-to-center dimension just a tad bit more than the instructions indicated, I made it 2 1/16 inches. That made the 4-way Hazard Flasher clear the
stiffener behind the parking brake shaft a little more than needed but it worked for me. And the pull-out **** easily clears the lower flange of the instrument panel.
One other thing, I used what's known as a Knock-Out/chassis Punch to make the hole. You still have to drill the pilot hole for it but it makes for a clean cut in the parking brake bracket.
Pics attached but the punch in the pic is 1" used for an access hole in my sandblast cabinet.

Mike, thanks for the info. You experienced the same thing I did with regards to being so close to the support bracket.
I like the knockout tool. If Harbor Freight has them, I'll be golden.
