In a few weeks, I'll begin work removing everything associated with my dash. This is going to be a big undertaking and I intend to take care of everything "while I'm at it".
With that in mind, one of the last details is the **** and **** labels for the Vintage Air system.
Previous owner installed the system at least 12 years ago. I don't know if there was a nicer option.
I contacted Vintage Air about buying nicer bezels or **** assemblies, etc and they couldn't help me.
I Googled it and could not find a company that does make or would make a custom bezel.
Has anybody come up with a better solution than paper stickers when installing a Vintage Air air conditioning system?
ABOVE: Factory **** & bezel; backside is modified to accept the VA controls. I DON'T LIKE THE PAPER STICKER. I'd like to find a chrome bezel that looks factory but has the correct lettering.

ABOVE: Radio side panel that must have come with the VA kit, includes this extra control ****. I DON'T LIKE IT BEING PLASTIC. I'd like to replace the **** at least with a **** that looks more like the factory *****.
You can pretty much do what ever you want to do on switch bezels.
You can make the oem ***** fit the VA controls. There are a couple vendors on eBay that make custom switch bezels for just about any switch. These are for my Sniper 2 and custom gauge resets.

I guess I'm being thick. I don't find anybody making custom bezels (that will fit and look right) on ebay or anywhere else.
I do find plastic stuff the wrong color and size. But, nothing that would actually work on the two ***** I'm talking about.
Again, maybe I'm being slow...
As you know the upper two console ***** are recruited in the VA system for managing air distribution locations and fan speed. I installed mine about 3 years ago and I just left the OE bezels and markings that came with the midyears.

So you’re saying just removing the paper stickers is a better option than having the paper stickers.
Yeah that’s probably my default plan if I can’t come up with a better solution.
That or it appears that the OE **** flange may still be on yours. Peel off the paper and it may look like mine. If not, those OE function label flanges may be available from ZIP or Central.
I, like some of you guys, use my cell to play music or for navigation prompts through a small bluetooth amp and a multi-channel speaker that replaced the OE mono speaker. I used to rest my phone on the console, but it had the habit of walking as wi drove. I believe in may have been Tom Austin that posted a potential solution to this, and it got me searching as well. The other issue for me in two-fold. One was that I cannot read the display in a vert easily as the sun tends to wash out the image. That would not be a huge issue if (Two) my map app on my phone would reliably talk to me but she has a habit of leaving mid road trip. Technology does not care much for me, it's personal. So, I found this on amazon, automatically grabs and holds the phone and has a built in induction charger so the phone can navigate us all day long and the vertical orientation solves the sunlight readability issue. The main mounting section on the speaker grill came with a strong adhesive applied. Did not want to glue it permanently to the grill so I got some wafer this rare earth magnets (from Jeff) and bonded (4) to the base. I then glued a this piece of vinyl to them so they would not scratch the paint. I did make a small "L" bracket that engages the mount right where the ball and socket joint adjustment is so the weight of the phone is stabilized at bot ends of the mount and subsequently does not vibrate the cell image while driving. That "L" mount is held to the grill by the same magnets only they sit on the shorter "L" surface of the mount. A short charger cord runs from the cigarette
charger to the charging port on the mount.

On a related matter;
did you paint the letters black? Mine are not black. Mine are basically the same color. And I am thinking the bulb behind the dash is supposed to shine through those letters at night with the headlights on.
I basically never drive mine at night so I’m not sure.
I should check that before removing everything.

You can scrape the chrome off the letters to make them appear black.
