Is an original master cylinder off a 58 that is rebuildable worth much. If so how much?

I have two, been watching them on eBay. Not a lot of interest there.

Lonestar Caliper was paying $75 to $125 for original rebuildable Delco "022" master cylinder cores. I don't recall if the price difference was for condition or if they were paying more for one version of the "022" casting than the other. If you weren't aware, the 57-59 master cylinder has the "022" cast the same size as the rest of the casting number, this is known as the "small 022". The second design 59 to 62 casting has the "022" cast about twice as large as the rest of the casting number making this the "large 022" version.

You'd probably have $15 in freight to ship it to them, but I'd still give them a call to see what they'll give you for it. 903-829-8400

I got $20 for mine at Carlisle. I just wanted rid of it and a guy bought it for the core.

I cannot overemphasize the importantance of installing a dual reservoir master cylinder on a C1. Safety is the primary reason. I understand the purist but 95 %. of the cars are never judged. I also changed out the glass fuel filter on the carb setup. Having a high points car that crashes or goes on fire doesn't appeal to me

I don't know, but in those days the danger of the equipment was nothing compared to some of my driving.

I'm still driving my very first car which I bought in 1962 from my Granddad. I has pure, bone stock 1951 drum brakes (in excellent mechanical condition). The master cylinder is on top of the frame, under the floor on the driver side. The master cylinder is the SAME size as early Corvette master cylinders with pedals going through the floor with stock 1951 linkage. If needed, I can lock up all 4 wheels.
