My 1961 speedometer has suddenly gone haywire. The speed part is still working, but it’s making a clicking noise and the needle is kind of bouncing. The odometer has stopped turning. Anyone else ever run into this and anyone know what the problem could be?
JUST had mine doing the same on my '62, I had the cluster removed, had a new odometer gear and numbers replaced by Mike Freeman in Greer SC, (he redid the speedo and put the numbers inside) than went to put it all together,. went to replace the gear in the transmission and the old one fell in side the trans, Now I am in the process of taking the drive shaft down, removing the transmission mount, removing the tail stock, fishing for the gear. Hope I can find it. and replace everything. So Be careful

yikes! So did you try it once the cluster was redone? It sounds like the problem was the gear on the transmission?
