Help with adjusting pushrods

I used this method for about 50 years. TDC #1 compression stroke adjust exhaust #1,3, 4, 8 intake 1,2, 5, 7 bring it around to #6TDC adjust exhaust 2, 5, 6, 7 intake #3, 4, 6, 8. I adjust them between 1/2 and 3/4 turn after finding zero lash.

No big problem if you remember which cylinder you did but if you are spinning the pushrod to see if it is tight and you have already set it -it is loose! So you re do a cylinder that was already right!

Thought I remembered those clips! Most of my motors have roller rockers so they won't fit.

If you do it with the motor running , no need to spin push rods and you can adjust them in any order you like. I just go from front to back.

Because all cams are not the same I was told to use this method

I've got a list like that but I get confused which ones I have done so I do one cylinder at a time.
