Maybe a stupid question but can’t seem to find the answer to. Can’t find the hose routing from the windshield wiper switch to the various components. Can’t find it in the assembly manual.
Can someone tell me what goes where from the switch?
I would Check the wiring diagram. If you don’t have it you can probably find it and download it from the net. Or go to the public library and find it there.
I apologize, I didn’t explain my problem very well. I don’t have anything hooked up to vacuum but didn’t think I had to, but maybe I do. When I twist the ****, the wipers come on. But when I twist it back the **** won’t move and so I can’t shut it off. Does vacuum need to be connected? Is the switch bad?
The dash switch is a cable that connects to the wiper motor switch.
Check the cable end at the motor switch mechanism. There is a small screw and washer which holds the cable. It may have loosened up or needs adjustment.
The other possible solution is inside the motor. Switch contact adjustment(under the cover plate) or park mechanism fault.
The ST12 has a fault diagnosis guide which may help.
Also see pg 23 notes in the attached wiper assy document.

Thanks Rich, as usual you’ve been most helpful. While I think my problem will be mostly adjustment (I hope), I will store this file for future reference.
Okay, finally found the problem, it was the cable even though I could find anything particularly wrong with it. Anyway, just installed a new cable and everything works great. Thanks to everyone.
