According to AUTHENTICATION LIBRARY VOL 1 by Al Grenning & Roy Sinor 490= Vinyl C=Red does not identify G. A significant number of known-to-be-original 1963 Corvettes have interior trim designations that differ from original tables. The new system went through growing pains, and errors obviously happened. DAMN it, that's twice in the last couple months that the '63 date coding has kicked me in the behind. Of course you're right -- I should have looked up the code rather than rely on any sort of code standard.
