I read they were both black and now we now they are convertibles. Is this a hypothetical question or do both of these cars exist?
If it's hypothetical IMCO it comes down to price if all other options basically make both cars equal.
Then if the patina paint car has a significant price concession and it's a nice 10 footer I want that one.
Mostly because I want to drive it and not stress over some occasional road rash.
I'm not interested if it looks like this.

If that's the case then I want the repaint.

the car needing paint looks drop dead gorgeous until you are standing over it. Many crows feet, lots of checking & scratches. Very shiny though & presents well.

They are indeed the same car, making the bc/cc car the Hypothetical.

The question as to “which do you prefer” is giving me fuel to paint or not to paint.

I’m leaning towards leaving it. It almost appears to be original & some of it just may be. Whether it is or isn’t, it has a patina that only comes with age.

IMCO keep leaning. Thanks for the pictures. Yes it photographs well. If you're going to drive it leave it at least for the foreseeable future. If you decide to repaint it now how long is it going to be before you can drive it again? Who's going to paint it? How much is it going to cost? What else could you find that's currently hidden? Too many unanswered questions. Based on the pictures it looks like the perfect C2 you can enjoy. Go through it. Make sure it's safe and road worthy. Looks like a great find to me. Good luck with it.

thanks. I’m just about done sorting it. I’ve had the car completely gone through. There’s little left to do on my list. Real 126,000 mile car. 327/300 power glide.

Since this was taken the interior has had more restoration. Past owner did 75% of the interior. We did the rest.

Since this one was shot we’ve repainted the exhaust & intake manifolds
