Just purchased a 1966 convertible and I'm looking for a mechanic in the Solana Beach, California area. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Called one place and they said they had no dinosaur mechanics.

I don’t know if I meet the qualifications of a “mechanic”, but I qualify for the dinosaur part.

Carb and some general maintenance. It's a vacation home so I don't have my tools or the room or permission to work on the car.

It just means they only work on cars they can plug into. Even with all that live data to examine, there are a small fraction that can actually troubleshoot effectively when youtube does not provide the solution.

my suggestion is you put a subject line in your thread that includes your location to attract attention from the people that are in that area instead of all over the world.

at your location you have a lot of C2's running around in the wild so chat with them. If you cant find one before May, hit the Encinitas cruise nights on Hwy 1 (3rd Thursday in month, May-September) where lots of C2's meet up.

cheers,
willie (summer in Oceanside)
